What Does One Year From Now Look Like

Rise up, you women who are at ease, hear my voice;
    you complacent daughters, give ear to my speech.

God leads me to Isaiah 32 ever so often. Now when God leads you to a specific scripture more than once, I think it’s safe to say you need to take heed to it. And guess what? This scripture pings every single time and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. But this time, the conviction was stronger. What is Isaiah 32 all about?

DOING THE FREAKIN’ WORK

What does that mean? Well let’s dig into it. The first part of Isaiah 32 talks about how God is going to switch things up and bring about righteousness, saying a king will reign in righteousness and princes will rule in justice. There will be shelter from the storm and streams of water in dry places. The eyes of those who see [seers] will not be closed. The ears of those who hear [prophets] will give attention. The heart of the hasty [me] will understand. And the stammerers will hasten to speak distinctly. Things will change. In these last and crazy times, God is going it going to put an activation on us. He is going to switch things up, but that’s why the second part of Isaiah 32 is so important and it’s specifically for the women.

I love when God speaks to his daughters directly. It gives need for attention. The second part of this chapter starts with addressing God’s daughters of Israel, but specifically the complacent ones- those in deed and behavior. Isaiah says: In little more than a year, complacent women will shudder because the grape harvest will fail and the fruit harvest will not come. “Tremble you women who are at ease, shudder you complacent ones.” This is interesting because women during this time were taken care of by their husbands though they tended to their homes and the fields. So why is Isaiah telling the women to not be complacent? God knew something special about women and the power that a woman has to touch the things that she is called. It goes without saying that complacency is the enemy of progress.

Isaiah 32 is a warning to not be stagnant because you think things are good or contrastingly- you have given up hope. This is the time to rise up as a woman. This rings ever so true in this time. In these last days, women in particular, are going to be God’s earpiece, but not just through ministry, but through all the things God is calling them to do- businesses and ventures, along with speaking the word. God goes on to talk about how the land is a dryland. Nothing grows in dry environments. That can be likened to the current economy and world today. Things are harder than ever and finding a job is the most difficult it’s ever been. This is the time to start the thing God called you to. If you are in a dry place, this is the time to get watered with what God put in your heart.

This is also a call to not be complacent in behavior and deed- how you act and what you do. The spirit of God needs to fan into flame now more than ever. This is time to pray more than ever. Let me tell you something- the enemy will try to steal from you, specifically prayer because prayer shapes destiny. The moment you stop praying, things start to fall to pieces. TRUST ME. I know. So even if it’s ten minutes, five minutes, pray God’s will for your life daily.

This is a time to wake up early, make your bed, work out, drink your water, purify your hearts, and start the thing or the THINGS. How do I know this? Because Isaiah states it at the end of the chapter, stating “Happy are you who sow beside all waters”. Isaiah says it will be like this until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high. This is when the wilderness becomes a fruitful field. God promises a fruitful field and justice in the wilderness. He also promises the that the effect of righteousness will be peace, quietness, and trust forever. Along with this comes peaceful habitations, secure dwellings, and quiet resting places.

Ladies, it’s time! This hits for me because I like comfort and soft living. I want[ed] to be taken care of, but I realize that does not exist as a woman of God. Why? Because God put something in your heart. Because God called you to be a certain someone. Feel under pressure? Good- that’s where God is calling you to be- to birth something beautiful.

What am I saying? Mark April 15th (U.S. tax day- easy enough to remember because you have to do them haha) as your day of change and revival. Go on a year journey with me to be consistent, determined, and faithful in sowing along the waters God has called you to sow upon in this lifetime.

And that LADIES, is the 211
